Wolfsburg winger sacrificed a tooth for win over Ronaldo and his Madrid teammates

In a memorable and very unexpected turn of events, Wolfsburg put one foot in the semi-finals of the Champions League after 2-0 victory over Real Madrid on Wednesday night at the Volkswagen Arena.

The close to perfect result came at a cost especially for Portuguese winger Vieirinha who lost a tooth during the clash after going for the ball against Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos who struck him in the mouth with his stray elbow, unknowingly.

With any form of tooth problem definitely going to hurt whoever, the 30-year-old fell to the floor writhing and rolling in pain before spitting his tooth out onto the pitch.
Who knows, maybe he remembered to put the tooth under his pillow, hoping the tooth fairy repays him with a second leg win in Spain next week.

Dead ball specialist Ricardo Rodriguez put the Germans ahead from the penalty spot on 18 minutes after former Chelsea star had been brought down by Real Madrid's in the area.
The home side then extended their lead just seven minutes later as Maximilian Arnold converted Bruno Henrqiue crossed.

That was the arguably their biggest night on the Champions League stage having only advanced to the quarter-final stage for the first time in their history - a place in the semis especially at the expense of the 10 times champion will be a their most successful achievement yet.
