Lool. Dundee United player leaves club after bizzarely stopping a game by picking up the ball and walking off

If this happened in some parts of the world, people would say it came from his village.
In probably one of the most bizarre/ hilarious things we would see happen in our beloved sport, this player interrupted a game in play by picking up the ball and walking off the pitch, afterwards, he claimed he was injured and needed treatment...

It's just like those times in school when the boy that owns the ball picked up the ball to stop play because decisions didn't go his way. And honestly, it did seem to work then, it was some kind of unspoken 'fifa' rule, apparently.

Apparently, Dundee United's Gavin Gunning, 25, was sleeping when he was told he had become a professional, hence, he missed learning that rule doesn't apply in the real world.

Gunning's rock-bottom club were on their way to a 2-0 home defeat to Inverness on Saturday, when after 63 minutes, the Irish defender proceeded to walk off the pitch with the ball, before being told by his manager to get back on to receive treatment. He was subbed off afterwards. Watch below...

Bizarre or hilarious? Dundee United have since announced his contract has now been cancelled by "mutual consent".

Don't smoke and play...
