Leicester loose more grip on the title as Jamie Vardy is charged with Improper Conduct after West Ham drama

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy has been charged by the FA for improper conduct following his actions after being sent off against West Ham on Sunday. The Foxes have also been charged with failing to control their players after the Hammers were awarded a late penalty.

This charge could not have come at a worse time with them closing in on title, and to make matters worse their draw in that last game reduced their seven point advantage by five. And now with Vardy already set to miss the weekend's game against Swansea with a one-match ban for his sending off,  an additional ban for the improper conduct charge would likely see him miss the trip to Old Trafford in two week's time.

An FA statement read: "Leicester City's Jamie Vardy has been charged with improper conduct for his behaviour following his second-half dismissal against West Ham United on Sunday 17 April 2016. Leicester have also been charged for failing to control their players following the awarding of an 83rd-minute penalty to West Ham.

Both the player and the club have until 6pm on Thursday 21 April 2016 to reply to their charge."

Discussing the incident on Sky Sports after the game, former referee Dermot Gallagher said about whether Vardy could be charged; "It depends on what Jamie has said to the referee and if it was offensive, insulting or abusive. As such, he could be facing down the barrel of a further charge.

"It happened quickly and he was angry, but we don't know what was said. Only Jon Moss knows that, and that's what will follow through. Is it offensive? Is it insulting? Is it abusive? It all hinges on that."

Only God knows what he said to the ref...
