Manchester City celebrate Kelechi Iheanacho's 364-day progress and its really amazing

So much being said in a picture...

Can you imagine the rate of his progress? Who says the young ones can't be successful when given the opportunity to prove themselves, irrespective of nationality?

To imagine that he played the second leg of Manchester City's FA Youth Cup final against their Chelsea counterparts at Stamford Bridge in 2015. Fast-forward 364 days later and he is playing with the first team against 10 times Champions League winners, Real Madrid in a very crucial semi-final.

City posted this picture of the Nigerian as a tribute to his rapid rise in a short while.

He has more goal to game ratio than Manchester United's much celebrated Marcus Rashford. In fact, across Europe, he has the best strike rate with only Luis Suarez and Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of him. Yes, even ahead of LIONEL MESSI.
He scored a double against Stoke in last weekend's 4-0 win which momentarily sent him to the top of the goals-per-minute charts, above the La Liga duo.

But he drew a blank when he came on as a sub against Real Madrid in midweek, and so dropped back down to a mere goal every 85.8 minutes. That meant Suarez (83.8 mins) and Ronaldo (84.2) moved back above him, but a host of big names remain trailing in the teenager's wake.

Meanwhile, Charly Musonda pictured in Chelsea colours was perhaps the most lucky of his 2014/15 Youth team as he has managed to get more regular first team football having been loaned out to La Liga side, Real Betis since the start of the season.

Well done to Iheanacho. I just hope he continues to keep his head down and he gets lucky and finds favour in the sight of incoming, Pep Guardiola.
