John Terry undergoing platelet rich plasma therapy to speed up Achilles injury recovery


John Terry has revealed he is undergoing platelet rich plasma therapy (PRP) as he bids to speed up his recovery from an Achilles injury before the end of the season.
The Blues skipper has missed the club's last two games, having only recently recovered from a hamstring problem which forced him out of the side for six games.

The 35-year-old, who is out of contract this summer, is expected to miss another two or three weeks with the injury and took to Instagram to post a photo of himself fully kitted while in his surgical scrubs while receiving the treatment.

Such is his determination to remind the club of his worth thag earlier today, he posted a video of himself in the gym earlier today.

PRP therapy involves reintroducing a concentrated platelet solution derived from the patient's blood. Studies have shown it can potentially speed up the healing process.
The treatment is permitted by the World Anti-Doping Agency since it was removed from their prohibited list five years ago.
Athletes from different sports, including Tiger Woods, have used the therapy.
