Conte requests that Courtois be dropped as he considers summer sale

Chelsea number one Thibaut Courtois seems to be heading closer to the exit door faster than everyone thought when he was choosen ahead of veteran Petr Cech two seasons ago.

After his return from his 3-year loan at Atletico, with the club hoping to extend it, the Belgian reportedly insisted that he is either given a chance to be first choice or they sell him off entirely as he was not willing to go out on yet another loan. Inadvertently strong arming then boss,  Jose Mourinho and the club.

He became their first choice, a year later Cech was sold to city rivals Arsenal. A year later and miles away from clinching a European spot, Courtois wants out so much that he went on air to criticize the quality of his teammates. Out-rightly claiming that they are not all as 'world class' as his national teammates.

Antonio Conte's history suggests that he is indeed a no nonsense Italian coach that would not accommodate such and reports say he is willing to sell the goalkeeper.
Following his appointment on Monday, he paid a visit to the team where he reportedly asked interim boss Guus Hiddink to drop the Belgian for Asmir Begovic to be tested out between the sticks for a few games.

Conte wants to see the Bosnian in action as he makes early decisions on his squad for next season, as he looks to reshuffle the squad.

Begovic played a number of games at the start of the season when Courtois was out injured, but has been relegated back to a role on the sidelines since the Belgian came back, Guus Hiddink and Jose Mourinho before him putting their trust in Courtois' talent.

Courtois on his part hasn't been pulling down mountains since his return though and it was suggested that Courtois could drop to the bench as early as Saturday's game against Swansea, something that eventually happened. The Bosnian though did not stake a claim for himself after fluffing his lines on numerous occasions.

The Belgian could be the subject of a number of sizeable bids in the summer, with reports that Real Madrid want to add to Kaylor Navas in goal although a bid is expected to be made for David de Gea but there is little chance that United would be willing to let him go. Courtois is considered their second choice.

Some other Chelsea stars have been linked with summer exits - Eden Hazard and Diego Costa in particular, although recent reports have claimed that Conte plans to build his side around the Spain international up front.
