Vidal reveals Guardiola did not tell the the players he was leaving, says they saw it in the news

Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal who signed from Juventus last summer for £28million has revealed how strange it is that he and his team-mates were not told by their manager about his imminent summer exit from the club.

The Chilean said he found it ‘strange’ that Pep Guardiola did not confide in them before publicizing his exit.

Guardiola will resume as the head coach at Manchester City this summer after all parties officially announced what some described as the worst kept secret in recent football history.

Nevertheless, Vidal says the news of his departure came as a surprise after the Spaniard chose not to inform his players of the decision before his December announcement.

‘It was strange and we only learned about it by watching TV,’ Vidal told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
‘Either way, after him we'll have an excellent coach in Carlo Ancelotti. For now we want to win everything so Pep can leave happy.’

Carlo Ancelotti has already been confirmed as Guardiola’s successor.
