Turkish madness as defender is sent off for showing the referee his own red card and his side ends game with SEVEN men!

A Trabzonspor defender has attempted to re-enact Paul Gascoigne's referee booking incident in 1995. However, while the English man was let off by referee Dougie Smith 11-years-ago, Salih Dursun was not so lucky in Turkey in his case he was awarded red-card.

The Trabzonspor defender was one of four players sent off by center official Deniz Ates Bitnel in a very high tempered 2-1 defeat by Galatasaray on Sunday night in Istanbul.
The defender then enraged by the dismissal of team-mate Luis Pedro Cavanda, decided to mock Bitnel by showing him the red card after it was dropped by the referee only for the ref to take it back and flash the card for him.

The flare-up surrounding Bitnel’s controversial decision to award an 86th-minute penalty with the score at 1-1, providing Inan Selcuk the chance to net the winner three minutes later.

Trabzon supporters went mad with the decision only for one more to be flashed to the side leading to an abandonment. It meant that two people were sent off between the 85 minute and the final whistle.

Their club were also upset, posting a message on Twitter reading: 'The black night of Turkish football', accompanied by an image of the Dursun incident.

Jose Bosingwa was one of Trabzonspor’s five starting players who managed to last the full game, while Lukas Podolski netted Galatasaray’s earlier equaliser after Erkan Zengin’s opener.
