Bayern Munich fans unveil banner against Pep Guardiola - 'He was never our thing'


For the first time, Bayern Munich fans have responded to Pep Guardiola's decision to quit the club in the summer for Manchester City and there is no tongue in cheek. The German giants have declared that they never really into the Spaniard in the first place after all they have not been any exceptional outside the Bundesliga since he came on board.

The supporters made their feelings very clear during Saturday's 3-1 league  win over Darmstadt. They saw their side come from behind to win the game with Two goals from Thomas Muller and a strike from Robert Lewandowski. Despite the turn around for the comfortable win, the main event of the game was the activity in the stands.


To now make a clear statement, the Bayern support unveiled a banner that translated as: "Pep was never our thing".
It was widely publicized that the club made all efforts for him to extend his contract, something to which he turned down after a lengthy delay.

Guardiola's decision to join the Citizens was confirmed at the end of January , with City admitting that discussions to land the sought-after coach begun four years ago.


Meanwhile in-demand Juventus star Paul Pogba has admitted that he would jump at the chance to play under Guardiola.


The former Manchester United youngster has been linked with a move to City and Chelsea, but for the first time, he has hinted that there was a chance he could be heading to one of the two.
He said of Guardiola: "All the players respect him. You only have to look at him and you want to learn from him. I've heard that he improves every player. He is a football icon.
"Right now I am still with Juventus, but clearly if you have chance to work with someone like him, you can only develop further."
