ICYMI, Gary Neville has finally won a league game...with help from Real Madrid

After going through nine grueling league matches without a win since he was pulled out of the sofa at Sky Sports to manage Valencia, former Manchester United star Gary Neville has finally won a La Liga game. The luck came at the 10th time of asking.

After Oscar Duarte had opened the scoring for Espanyol, a 71st minute equalizer from former Manchester City hit-man, Alvaro Negredo kicked off the comeback at the Mestalla on Saturday night.

On loan forward, Denis Cheryshev whose inclusion despite being suspended during one of Real Madrid's Copa del Rey games earlier this season caused the club to get disqualified from the competition,  converted another chance just 5 minutes later. Fortunately, his side were able to see out the remaining 14 minutes of the game without any disaster.

His former fellow Sky pundit Jamie Carragher after the game cheekily tweeted: Denis Cheryshev is Spanish for Mark Robins! Well done Gary!'

Reacting to that comment as well as the outcome of the game, a visibly relieved Neville said: 'Carragher has always been a trouble-maker and he's not changed tonight,'

'It's a relief. This is not a night to get carried away but you saw how the supporters reacted and we now have a good feeling that we need to take forward.
'Cheryshev has done so well since he has come here and he has not played that many games. He tends to tire which is normal and we were even thinking about taking him off before he scored.
'He's getting in that position that we want our wingers to get into. I was grateful for the goal, if not for the tweet!'

Their next game is against Rapid Wien on Thursday in the Europa league, Neville would be hoping they stay winning.
