Watch. SHAMEFUL scenes as United team bus is attacked by West Ham fans + players' on-the-coach reaction

Manchester United's team bus was attacked by West Ham fans ahead of kick-off of what was the Hammer's farewell game at the Boleyn Ground. They bid farewell to their home of 122 years after last night's encounter, before their move to the 2012 Olympic Stadium in London.

And indeed it was a befitting 'final' on the pitch. The Hammers ran out 3:2 winners in the fiercely contested thrilling encounter with goals from Sakho (10), Antonio (76), Reid (80) settling the tie. That loss though may have just ended Manchester United's chances of Champions League qualification.

The evening started on a soar note as West Ham fans who watched their side suffer a humiliating loss at home to Swansea on Saturday lined the streets in their thousands to welcome the players, but the chaotic scenes saw United's coach attacked as it made its way to the stadium. Bottles were thrown by fans outside the ground, with Wayne Rooney stating the bus had been "smashed up".

Police were forced to intervene but the carnage ensured kick-off was delayed by 45 minutes, to 8:30pm. Watch the reaction from United players led by Jesse Lingard who shared the clip on social media as they scampered for safety in the bus...
