Brazilian team perfect genius new way of blocking clever free-kicks

Not even in your craziest moments of imagination would you have imagined this...

Usually, what comes out of Brazilian football is creativity, attacking flair and everything entertaining.
But this Brazilian team have perfected a clever way of blocking out any free-kick that may try to find its way in through the legs of the human wall.

In the Pernambuco Football Championship final between Sport Recife and Santa Cruz, the home side, Recife, won a free-kick just outside the box in a dangerous position.

With Chilean winger Mark Gonzalez having lined up the ball, one Santa Cruz player showed bravery by laying down behind the wall.

They were willing to do anything to see out the game. Having won the first leg, Cruz only needed a clean sheet to win, and looked like they would do anything to keep it 0-0. Watch...

Whether it was a function of luck or not, the tactics seemed to have bamboozled Gonzalez enough to balloon the ball over the bar. The game ended 0-0 meaning Santa Cruz took the championship. Quite Impressive.
