Chelsea hit the jackpot! Blues agree colossal £60m-a-Year Kit deal with Nike

Chelsea are on the brink of sealing a massive new deal with Nike worth twice their current one which was terminated prematurely with Adidas, The Telegraph have revealed.

Chelsea's deal with Adidas was the most lucrative in the Premier League when it was announced back in 2013, bringing in £300m over the course of the decade-long contract, but they have since been relegated to second since then - as Adidas agreed a £750m deal with Manchester United to steal them from under the noses of Nike.

The Telegraph have revealed that the new deal is set to net the London club a massive £60m-a-year over its 10 year duration, doubling what the Blues were receiving from Adidas and an easy justification for the £40m they paid to escape the 'shackles' of their old deal.

With Nike losing some of their biggest names over the last couple of seasons - with Manchester United going to Adidas and Arsenal disappearing away to work with Puma - it's no wonder they've gone enthusiastically after Chelsea's business in an attempt to get a foothold back into the Premier League market - especially with a big London team.

The size of the deal also shows the faith that Nike have in the club's future, banking on getting a return on their investment despite the Blues' embarrassingly poor season leaving them facing the prospect of not having their brand showed off around the world in the Champions League next season.

Doubling their income on the kit front will allow the Blues an extra £30m in leeway for Financial Fair Play rules too, which could be key when revamping the squad after a disappointing domestic season.
