How much prize money did your club receive this season? Leicester are fifth but you won't believe how much Arsenal made!

Arsenal was the best loser this season but somehow they managed to make more money than title winners  Leicester City this season - despite the prize money that comes with the Foxes' title-winning heroics.

The Arsene Wenger led Gunners pocketed a mammoth £101million from TV and commercial earnings throughout the campaign, bettering the £93.2million that was given to the first time champions.
According to an official statement from the Premier League, Tottenham, Manchester City and Manchester United are three other clubs that all also picked up more money from the bank than Leicester.

Each and everyone of the 20 Premier League teams individually received an equal share of £21,924,800 in UK broadcast revenue as well as £29,415,848 in overseas broadcast revenue. All teams also received £4,509,152 in central commercial revenue.

The only variables in income from the Premier League are in facility fees, which are received each time a team has a match shown live on TV, and merit payments, which are dependent on their league position at the end of a the season.

For the facility fees, teams received around £800,000 for each of their game broadcast live on television.
With 27 top flight games screened live on TV as opposed to Leicester's 15, Arsenal scooped almost double the amount of income from that stream.

If this were to be the 2016/17 season, club majority owner Stan Kroenke will have a broader smile on his face as Arsenal will take home just over £150million - that is if they have the same amount of matches broadcast live. Then probably, by now the Frenchman would have signed another 5-year deal, leaving fans to go absolutely bonkers.
