Happy birthday to Yaya Toure!

He was born Gnégnéri Yaya Touré on this day 13 May, 1983 in Bouaké, Ivory Coast.
During his early playing days, he aspired to play as a striker but went on to play in center back including during his days at Barcelona.

In 2012, the devout Muslim, turned down the traditional Barclays Man-of-the-Match champagne following his starring performance in a league game against Newcastle United due to his religious beliefs. This prompted the Premier League to introduce a rose water and pomegranate drink as an alternative prize for Muslim players.
