Jose Mourinho agrees personal terms with Manchester United on three-year deal

Former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has reportedly agreed personal terms with Manchester United, with all that is left understood to be to finalise issues such as image rights before the deal can be formally announced.

The Old Trafford club were hopeful of making an announcement to confirm the Portuguese's appointment on Wednesday, but the complex nature of the contract details means it could be Thursday before the deal is confirmed.

The incoming boss is said to have given his wishlist to United's executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward.  Instructing him to sign a new centre-back, right midfielder, central midfielder and centre-forward, with free agent Zlatan Ibrahimovic set to be the incoming striker.

He also wants a “captain” in central defence, as he is unconvinced by this season's regulars, Chris Smalling and Daley Blind.
