Manchester United Ready £79m Bid for PSG's Marco Verratti

According to reports in Italy, Jose Mourinho and Manchester United are looking to bring a top class midfielder to Old Trafford.

According to Italian outlet Corriere Dello Sport, United are preparing a mammoth £79m bid for Paris Saint Germain's Marco Verratti. 

Verratti, 23-years-old, is good friends with fellow United target Zlatan Ibrahimovic, with the big Swede reportedly keen on linking up with his Italian counterpart in Manchester
While the 20 time Premier League champions may hold a strong interest in Verratti, PSG, meanwhile, have little interest in selling their star midfielder as of now.

The French giants already possess more than enough goods in the financial department and, therefore, do not feel the need to capitalise on Verratti's sizeable price tag. Additionally, the Italian would also be incredibly difficult to replace, such is his quality.

Given Verratti's considerable ability, it isn't hard to see why Mourinho would be interested, though. The Italy international possesses wonderful close control while also being an excellent distributor. 

Verratti is most at home in a possession based system, in which he can link play with accurate short passes. Mourinho often assembles teams by mixing technically gifted players of Verratti's mould, with hard working, gritty type players, such as Chelsea's Willian. 

Verratti's young age is yet another attractive factor for many European clubs. At only 23-years-old, PSG's number six certainly is still yet to complete his development and certainly has his best years ahead of him.

Verratti initially joined PSG from Italian side Pescara in 2012, commanding a £9.5m fee. Since then, he has performed admirably in a deep-lying midfield role. 

The young player is currently tied to PSG until 2020 and has the option of extending his stay to an even later date. Unfortunately, Verratti was unable to join the Italy national team in France after sustaining a rather serious groin injury.
