To cap off the weekend, Manchester United suffered defeat in the hands of Swansea thanks to goals from new signing Adre Ayew and in form striker Bafetimbi Gomis.
Juan Mata had earlier given United the lead but Ayew equalized just a little bit over the hour mark. Shortly before the seventieth minute, Gomis who has been in form since the start of the season scored the winning goal to take his tally to four goals in four matches.

While at St Mary's, Southampton cruised to a 3:0 win against newly prompted Norwich who were reduced to 10 men, thanks to a second yellow card issued to Steven Whittaker 30minutes into the game.
