18-year old Nigerian striker, Taiwo Awoniyi signs for Liverpool

Awoniyi who has been likened to new signing Christian Benteke has today completed his move from Imperial Academy in Nigeria. The initial transfer fee which is £800,000 is set to rise to as much as £3m in add-ons over the years.


Liverpool saw off interest from the likes of Monaco and FC Porto to capture the Nigerian. However he has been immediately loaned to FSV Frankfurt in Germany as he does not quality for a work permit yet.
